I'm preaching on Luke 16:1-13 on September 18, and it's a strange and hard story for any preacher in any age to craft a message of Jesus' good news. I have to wonder what the writer of Luke's gospel was thinking when this was added to Luke's Gospel. I am truly wondering what Jesus' intent was when he told this parable (or riddle)!
In worship on September 18, the congregation where I serve will be talking about "living out investments in others to deepen relationships." We will be invited to pick one person to invest in between Sep 18-Oct 16. Over the month, I will be collecting their stories and on Sunday, Oct 16, I will share the ways we invested in the faith of Jesus as a way to participate in God's love in this good world. You can join this holy experiment. Click on the link below. It will bring you to a form where you can share your story of investment and the changes in you and others that you experienced. Blessings on your investment in others! Anne
