​Pastor Jeremy joined the pastoral staff at ALC staff in June of 2022 as a first-call pastor. Previously Jeremy served as Visitation Minister in Elk River, MN, and as a Youth and Family minister over the last 18 years. Married to his wife Ellie, and together they have two boys, who keep them busy when they are not at church. You’ll most likely find Jeremy under the hood of an old Dodge Charger, or playing guitar. It is a joy and privilege to walk with youth and adults as they explore and discover what a living faith looks like.

Peter Morlock
Associate Pastor​

Peter joined the American Lutheran pastoral team in 2026 as their second pastor. He attended Augsburg University for undergrad, graduating with degrees in music and history. From there, Peter went to Luther Seminary in St. Paul and graduated with an MDiv degree in 1994. Throughout his career, Peter has served in a wide variety of places, including Upstate New York, the Twin Cities, and most recently, a two point parish in Northwestern Iowa. He and his wife, Kris, live in the parsonage in Windom where she serves on their pastoral staff. Together, they have three boys, Noah, Jonah, and Luke, who are all out of the house at college or graduate school. In Peter's space time, he enjoys reading, camping, smoking meat, attending community events, and a wide variety of other activities.

Sylvia Andersen
Worship & Music Coordinator

Sylvia has been on staff at ALC since January 2007. As worship/music coordinator, she works closely with the pastors to plan an organize the music components of the various worship services. Sylvia grew up as a farm girl near Marion, SD, attended college at SDSU in Brookings, SD and have lived in Clark, SD, Canton, SD and now in Worthington, MN. She likes to read to relax and wants to travel more. Sylvia and her husband, Michael, have 2 grown children, Miranda & Alex. Her daughter is married to Dan and they have one child, Gracie. She also counts numerous rescue cats as part of her family.

Kristin Appel
Children & Family Ministry Director

Before coming on staff, Kristin volunteered as a preschool Sunday school teacher, served on various committees, and helped with VBS. She earned her B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Minnesota State University and taught 2nd/3rd grade for several years before taking time off to simultaneously raise two daughters and pursue novel writing. She also enjoys gourmet food, historic places, and paths less traveled. As Children & Family Ministry Director, Kristin is able to combine her love of teaching and life-long learning with her love for Jesus; all the while walking alongside amazing kids and their families as they journey through faith milestones and explore the awesomeness of God, together.
