Important News Regarding Easter Worship

The good news is that we as God’s people will gather Easter morning to worship Jesus Christ, risen and living among us! It just may not be where many of us were expecting to be. Though many have hoped we could be in the renovated sanctuary, based on the recommendation of the Building Committee the Church Council voted to hold the 6:30 a.m. Sunrise Worship in the Fellowship Hall, and one Festival Worship at Memorial Auditorium at 9:00 a.m. The action also includes planning on May 5 for the first worship services in the new sanctuary.

While the sanctuary renovations should be virtually complete by the end of Holy Week, a couple of key factors made this decision necessary. The company manufacturing the 250 chairs, which were ordered last June, promises delivery mid-April but does not guarantee a specific date. Also, the sound/video system company cannot install the very sensitive electronic equipment until all the construction dust has settled and been cleaned up; once installed time is needed to balance and test all the components.
